Outline of Automated External Defibrillator course

Electrical Defibrillation is well established as the effective therapy for cardiac arrest. The most important determinant of survival being the time from collapse to delivery of the first shock.

Today the widespread deployment of Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) is considered a realistic strategy for reducing mortality due to heart disease.

Following the current Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines, Adventure First Aid has developed an Automated External Defibrillators course for those organisations who wish to provide AED cover in their establishment or on their expedition.

The Fred easyport AED is a small AED weighing in at 450g and measuring only 133x126x35mm. It is a suitable AED for carrying on expeditions and has been used on Everest in 2006. For the full Fred Easyport AED specifications click here.  We can provide this model or most others on the market depending on your requirements.  We can also help you place them in a suitable location in your workplace.

• Vital signs & basic life suppport. BLS scenarios.
• Chain of survival. heart rhythms. AED scenarios.
• Assessment. Dealing with aftermath.
• An easy to follow course manual per person.
• Certificate with valid lifetime of 180 days.
• Modern equipment and training methods.

The cost of the training package can include the price of unit itself and training for up to 10 people if required.  Following your first training course with us, the price of training drops significantly as you will already own the unit.  For groups who purchase an Automated External Defibrillator from us the first course is free.  Please call for details.
